Before you touch an egg

Two free rewards exist and neither is a code. Liking and favouriting the game unlocks a +10,000 Speed claim in the Free Rewards area next to the trails shop, and joining the ILGames x Eggs group unlocks a Legendary Sabertooth Egg through Community Rewards in the shop. Claiming the Speed first is the single fastest start available: the Forest gate is only 5 Speed, and the free claim pushes you straight past the first few gates.

While you are at the base, walk onto the treadmill. It raises Speed continuously while you stand on it, and Speed is the stat that gates every zone. Nothing else in the game has that effect on progression.

Your first run in Forest, step by step

1. Equip the Wooden Pickaxe you start with and walk into Forest, the zone directly outside the Safe Zone.

2. Stand in front of an egg and hold left click. The shell takes time to break; that time is your exposure window, because breaking an egg is what alerts the zone guardian.

3. The moment the shell opens, press the interact key (E on keyboard) to take the animal.

4. Walk straight back to the Safe Zone and place the animal in your pen. Do not stop for a second egg on the same trip.

5. Watch the pen tick up. That income is what pays for every upgrade after this.

What to buy with your first cash

Two purchases compete for the first few hundred dollars: the Stone Pickaxe at $80, and the White trail at $500. They fix different problems. The pickaxe shortens the time you spend breaking shells, which reduces how long the guardian has to close in. The trail multiplies your Speed, which is what the next zone gate checks.

For most players the trail is the better first buy after the Stone Pickaxe. The Stone Pickaxe is cheap enough to take early, and a 2x multiplier on a treadmill-trained Speed stat moves you toward the 1,000 Speed Desert gate far faster than a slightly faster swing does.

Do not buy the Golden Pickaxe at $20,000 because a guide says Desert needs it. Desert eggs break with cheaper tools; buy the Golden when breaking, not travelling, is what slows your runs.

Mistakes that cost new players their first pets

Fix these before your next run

Breaking two eggs before banking the first. The guardian reacts to the break, not to the carry, so a second egg doubles your exposure with nothing banked.

Sitting exactly on a gate number. If your Speed equals the gate you are still slower than a guardian that has been chasing you across the zone; build a small buffer.

Ignoring the pen. Animals that sit in the pen earn cash while you farm; animals left unplaced earn nothing.

How to tell what is actually blocking you

The steps above describe the fix. This part is about knowing whether the fix is the one you need, and how to tell a real improvement from a lucky run.

Diagnose before you change anything

Three things can go wrong in a first session and they look alike from the outside: the gate will not let you in, the shell takes longer than you want to stand there, or the shell opens and the animal still never reaches the pen. Check them in that order. If the gate refuses you, the problem is Speed and nothing in the shop substitutes for it. If the shell outlasts your patience, it is the pickaxe. If the shell opens and you lose the animal anyway, it is route or Speed, not gear. Fixing the wrong one is why new players end up owning a tool they never needed.

Check that the change actually landed

Change one thing per run and watch the same two things afterwards: how long the break takes, and whether the animal reaches the pen. If the break got shorter but the run still fails, the purchase was not your bottleneck. One clean run proves nothing on its own, so repeat it once without changing anything — if both runs end the same way, the outcome came from the zone rather than from your change, and you have learned which half of the loop to look at.

Common misreads

The most common misread is treating cash as progress. Cash in the wallet changes nothing until it is spent on the stat that is blocking you, and the biggest purchase on the shelf is often the wrong one. The second is reading a failed run as a weak pet: the pet was never the problem if it never arrived. The third is comparing your runs to a video of someone who already knows the route — their runs are shorter because they avoid the mistake, not because their gear is different.

Questions this guide gets asked

How long does the first session take?

Long enough to bank two or three Forest animals. The free +10,000 Speed claim removes most of the early treadmill time, so the bottleneck becomes learning the break-take-run loop rather than grinding.

Do I need Robux to start?

No. There are no gamepasses at the time of checking, and every zone is reachable with earned cash and Speed.

Which zone comes after Forest?

Desert, at 1,000 Speed. Snowy follows at 50,000 Speed.
