What the Desert run actually asks of you
The route
Clear the easy eggs in the zone before you pick one to carry home. The best-paying animal is the one worth the walk back, and the guardian here is faster than the Forest one.
What to watch
Do not buy the Golden Pickaxe at $20K just because a guide says Desert needs it. Buy it when breaking an egg is the slow part of your run, not before.
Is it worth farming?
Desert pays for the Snowy gate at 50,000 Speed, which is a much longer treadmill session. If you are still being caught on the way back, the missing piece is a trail multiplier, not a better pickaxe.
